Meta Business Verification

Verifying your Meta Business Account is required if you want to:

  • Raise your WhatsApp conversation limit (from 250 → 1,000 or more per day).
  • Access higher tiers of the WhatsApp Business API.
  • Ensure that Meta recognizes your business as legitimate.

⚠️ Note: Business Verification is different from the blue checkmark badge on Facebook or Instagram. This process is specific to your Meta Business Account.

✅ Checklist Before You Start

  • Active Website: Your company website must be live and include your business name, address, and phone number.
  • Matching Email Domain: The email you use should match your company’s domain (e.g. @yourcompany.com).
  • Phone Accessibility: If Meta verifies by phone, make sure you can receive calls. Disable IVR systems temporarily if needed.
  • Consistent Business Name: The business name in your documents should match your website and Meta Business Manager.

🔑 Business Verification Steps

  1. Go to Meta Business Manager.
  2. From the top-left dropdown, select your Business Portfolio.
  3. Click the ⚙️ Settings gear icon.
  4. Scroll to Business Info and ensure your details are correct. Update if needed.
    • The phone number here must match your website and documents.
  5. Under Business Verification, click View Details.
  6. In the Security Center, check your verification status.
  7. If verification is pending, click Continue → Get Started.
  8. Select your Country and click Next.
  9. Enter your Business Details (name, address, website) exactly as they appear in your legal documents.
  10. Choose your business from the list, or select “My business isn’t listed.”
  11. Pick a contact method (phone or email).
  12. Upload supporting documents (see list below).
  13. If using phone verification, click Call to receive a code and enter it.
  14. Submit your application.

Meta will review your submission. Reviews usually take a few days, and you can track the status in the Security Center.

📄 Accepted Documents

Make sure documents are:

  • Issued by official authorities.
  • Clear, valid (not expired), and in an accepted language.

Examples:

  • Certificate/Articles of Incorporation

🚫 Common Rejection Reasons

  • Incomplete or expired documents

If rejected, review the reason in the Security Center, correct the issue, and resubmit.
