Onboarding Prerequisites
✅ Prerequisites for Onboarding
Before getting started with Convers8 and the WhatsApp Business Platform, there are a few key requirements you’ll need to meet. These steps ensure your account is verified and compliant with Meta’s rules.
👉 For the official policies, see Meta’s WhatsApp Commerce & Business Policy .
1. Business Verification Documents
Meta requires proof that your company is legitimate. Depending on your country, you’ll need to provide at least one valid government-issued document such as:
Certificate of Incorporation or Trade License
Business Registration or Tax Certificate
Business Bank Statement (with legal name)
Utility Bill (address/phone verification only)
⚠️ Self-filed documents (like self-prepared tax returns) are not accepted.
2. Website Requirements
You must have an active website that clearly represents your business. At minimum, it should include:
A valid SSL certificate (https://)
About Us page with company details
Contact Us page with your legal name, address, and phone number
Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions
Copyright notice using your official business name
Example: © 2025 Convers8 Ltd. All rights reserved.
3. Phone Number
The number you plan to connect to WhatsApp:
Must not already be in use on WhatsApp.
Can be a new line or a number migrated from the WhatsApp Business App (requires a removal or change procedure).
🏷️ Business Name Setup
When setting up your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), your display name is one of the most important details. This is what customers see in chat headers and your business profile.
Meta reviews every display name, and mismatches or misleading terms can cause delays or rejection.
Common Issues with Display Names
Impersonation risk: Names similar to famous brands (e.g., “Nikee Software”) will be rejected.
Restricted terms: Words like Bank, Government, or sensitive terms (e.g., “COVID”, “Bomb”) require licenses or may be blocked entirely.
No clear link: If your display name doesn’t match your legal entity, domain, or public brand, it will be rejected.
Best Practices
✅ Align your display name with:
Your legal/trade name
Your website domain or brand identity
Your verified Facebook Business Manager profile
✅ If using a sub-brand, make sure it’s visible on your website or in your documents. ✅ Submit trademark certificates or licenses if required. ✅ Always check against Meta’s Display Name Policy .
✨ Pro tip from Convers8: Pick a display name that is simple, authentic, and directly connected to your legal brand. This makes approval smoother and builds immediate trust with your customers.
