Template Basic Info

Before building the actual message content, every template in Convers8 requires three key pieces of information: a unique name, a category, and a language. These ensure the template is correctly classified, validated, and supported across all WhatsApp meta policies.

Template Name

The Template Name is a unique identifier for your message template. This name is not shown to customers — it is only used internally for template management and WhatsApp approval.

Requirements in Convers8:

Must be unique within your WABA.

Allowed characters: lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and underscores (_) only.

No spaces or special characters.

Should describe the purpose of the template clearly.

Example:

order_update_1

promo_blackfriday

support_callback_request

Choosing a clear and descriptive name helps you manage templates easily, especially when dealing with multiple teams or high volumes.

Category

Every WhatsApp template must be assigned a category, which is validated during template submission. Categories determine how Meta evaluates and approves the template.

Convers8 supports all official WhatsApp categories:

  • Marketing For promotional messages, offers, announcements, reminders, and customer engagement.

  • Utility For transactional updates, confirmations, account information, or customer support flows.

  • Authentication For OTPs, login codes, and security verification messages.

Selecting the correct category is important — incorrect categorization may lead to template rejection.

Language

The Language field lets you specify the template’s language using Meta’s supported language list.

  • Select from a dropdown containing all WhatsApp-approved languages.

  • A template can only be sent in the language it was created in.

  • For multilingual needs, you must create separate templates (e.g., order_update_en and order_update_sw).

Assigning the correct language ensures recipients receive messages in the correct tone, grammar, and cultural context.
